St. Pete: AFS Racing/Andretti Autosport Friday report

CHARLIE KIMBALL, ...

CHARLIE KIMBALL, #26 TEAM LEVEMIR® FLEXPEN® CAR
* Finished fourth quickest in practice

"Practice ended well. We ended up P4, only a couple of tenths off my teammate. It's nice to have a quick teammate so we can compare data. The #26 Team Levemir® FlexPen® car was good. We made it better through the session. I think we're looking good for tomorrow's qualification. We're going to make a couple of tweaks overnight. If we can qualify in the top five or top three, it will help if it does rain. Being up front helps a lot with vision in the wet. I think we have a consistent race pace which helps a lot around here."

MARTIN PLOWMAN, #27 TEAM AFS RACING/ANDRETTI AUTOSPORT CAR
* FInished first fastest in practice

"It was great to get the season off to a start like we did. The pressure is on me to perform coming into a championship-winning team, so it's nice to be out there in P1. I'm not quite happy with the car as it is right now. It's a solid race car, but we need to work hard to improve the car for qualifying. As the track will grip up, that will probably affect us, so we need to work hard on getting speed for qualifying. I'm very confident I'll get a good chance at the poll with the #27 Team AFS Racing/Andretti Autosport car. It's just about being patient."
