INDIANAPOLIS, IN (September 26, 2000) -- Team KOOL Green Indy Lights drivers Jeff Simmons and Jonny Kane, like their Champ Car brethren Paul Tracy and Dario Franchitti, have an affinity for the street circuits and are no doubt looking forward to this weekend's race in downtown Houston.

Kane has been ultra-fast on the streets this season, winning at Detroit and earning poles at Detroit & Long Beach. Rookie teammate Simmons finished an impressive fourth in his Indy Lights debut on the streets of Long Beach last April and earned a career-best third last month at Vancouver, the most recent street race for the series.

JEFF SIMMONS , #26 Team KOOL Green Lola T97/20: @(First race in Houston)

"We've run extremely well on temporary street courses this season, including a podium finish in Vancouver. This is our last street course event of the season, and I'd really like to come away with a victory for Team KOOL Green. I know it's going to be tough to win the rookie title, with only two races left in the season. But there's still a mathematical chance to do that and I'm definitely going to keep battling to the end."

JONNY KANE , #27 Team KOOL Green Lola T97/20: @(First race in Houston)

"I'm looking forward to racing on the Houston street course for the first time. I know that Team KOOL Green has excelled on this circuit in the champ cars, so maybe we can maintain that success in Indy Lights. We won on the street circuit in Detroit, and Team KOOL Green has consistently come up with outstanding set-ups on temporary street or road-course tracks, so we should be in a good position to do well."
