#64 Rolando Quintanilla (TelMex/Canel's) "The car feels good. We will do some changes on the car before we qualify this afternoon. But, I have a good feeling and I am very hopeful for a higher place on the grid for qualifying!" said Rolando Quintanilla after this morning's practice. He placed 9th with a time of 1:06.620 on his 18th lap.
Rolando set his best time for both qualifying sessions of 1:06.057 during the second session this afternoon. Peter Jacobs (Engineer) said, "Before the race, we plan to do a few more alterations on the car. We have already started changing the clutch for tomorrow's race and we are very optimistic that our changes will benefit us!"
#65 Luis Diaz (TelMex/Canel's) Luis Diaz placed 5th during this morning's practice session with a lap time of 1:05.872. Diaz stated, "We have no major problems and I feel that the car is very consistent. This session was not just about the fastest lap, we are testing some things so we can be clear of what set-up we want for qualifying for the best performance possible. I think we have a good chance to qualify in the top five this afternoon!"
Luis (Diaz) qualified in 6th place due to an 8 minutes penalty given to him during Friday's qualifying session. Two laps before he was called into the pits to serve his penalty, Luis (Diaz) set his best time of 1:05.024. "We did the best we could with the time we were allowed. I was in 5th place after we changed my tires on the 4th lap. That's where I remained until I was called in. Tomorrow's race should be very exciting and I am looking forward to it!"
