Forsythe Championship Racing, Ltd. 1999 PPG-Dayton Indy Lights Championship

Budweiser G.I. Joe's 200 Presented by Texaco/Havoline Portland International Raceway - Portland, Oregon June 18-20, 1999

Circuit: 1.967-mile permanent road course Race: 38 laps/74.746 miles Broadcast: June 20 - ESPN2 11:30 pm EST

Airton Dare, #1 Banestado Lola - Finished 5th:

"We were lucky to stay out of trouble today. If you did that, you walked away with points. The car had a lot of understeer the first few laps. As the temperatures came up in the tires, the car was getting better and better but it was tough to hold the guys off the first few laps and on the restarts."

Guy Smith, #6 Swift Caravans Lola - Finished 3rd:

"For me, today felt like a win. This result was very important. The team has been doing a great job, but we've been very unlucky. We were 17th in the championship and we've moved up to seventh so we've got some momentum going now to focus on winning as many races as possible."

Top-Five Finishers:

1. Philipp Peter 2. Oriol Servia 3. Guy Smith 4. Casey Mears 5. Airton Dare

Top-Five Championship Standings:

1. Casey Mears - 62 points 2. Airton Dare - 53 points 3. Oriol Servia - 53 points 4. Philipp Peter - 48 points 5. Scott Dixon - 44 points 6. Guy Smith - 24 points
