Herdez/Pegaso-backed driver Mario Domínguez gave a great performance on the 2-mile Michigan Speedway in the Dayton Indy Lights race Detroit News 100. Domínguez started from the back of the grid to finish in 7th spot.
Mario Domínguez, Car #7, Herdez/Pegaso Team: "We could not do it any better, the car had a lot of understeer, despite that the team worked hard to provide me a competitive car. Happily, we gained some points and some of my peers who are challenging for the championship didn't. Now, I feel very confident for the next race at Chicago."
Ramiro Fidalgo, engineer for the Herdez/Pegaso Team: "We had a very bad weekend. We were not prepared for Super Speedways and we have to work harder. Mario got the best of the car and credit for his result absolutely goes to him. Also, he was very lucky, if the race lasted two laps more, he would have been overtaken and maybe he would lose two positions. Happily, the race only lasted 50 laps."
