JON HERB FINISHES 7th IN THE "FIRESTONE 100" IRL MENARDS INFINITI PRO SERIES RACE AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

FT. WORTH, Tex. - Jon Herb, of Orlando, Fla., and his Racing Professionals IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series team today finished seventh in the "Firestone 100" 67-lap event at Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth, Tex. Herb also finished seventh in the 2004 Menards Infiniti Pro Series event at Texas.

Herb, who won the Menards Infiniti Pro Series event at Phoenix in March, was not completely happy with his on-track results in Texas today, but realized that he had a solid finish.

"The car was better than it had been here before," Herb said. "We were trying to be aggressive, but the car was "skatey" in traffic. It was fun to drive, but definitely a handful. We got shuffled back and lost ground pretty early. We lost the draft and the lead pack, and that was it."

Herb, who is both driver and car owner for the Racing Professionals team, recorded an IRL IndyCar Series best finish of ninth in 2001 at Texas Motor Speedway.

This is Racing Professional's second year in the IRL Menard Infiniti Pro Series, competing in three races in 2004. Racing Professionals competed in the IRL IndyCar Series from 2000-2002 with Jon Herb as driver, making his first start in the Indy 500 in 2001. Herb took 2003 off from racing in order to develop AERCON Industries, a Florida-based company that manufactures lightweight concrete product for commercial and residential applications.

Herb is also co-owner of the newly formed IRL IndyCar Series entrant Playa Del Racing, along with Gary Sallee, Susan Schafer and Jeff Brougher. The team finished 16th in the 89th Indianapolis 500-Mile Race held May 29, 2005, with driver Jaques Lazier.

The "Firestone 100" IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series race from Texas Motor Speedway will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Thursday, June 16, 2005, at 3:00 pm (EDT).
