Florida Native Mishael Abbott Experiences Trouble at Homestead-Miami Indy Pro Series Opener

MIAMI (March 26, 2006) -- After a disappointing practice and qualifying, Mishael Abbott of Coral Springs, FL, finished 13th on the 1.5-mile oval course at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the season's first race of the Indy Pro Series today.

The team made several adjustments to the car trying to increase speed. After final practice on Saturday, the motor was replaced, but the car setup wasn't right the new engine.

"The team did their best but there just wasn't time to hone in on the adjustments needed to make the car perform better. We needed some laps with the new engine," Mishael stated. "I was hoping for a better finish for all the local Florida fans, but unfortunately it was not to be," she added.

Mishael raced the season opener for Michael Crawford Motorsports. Crawford noted, "Mishael is a talented driver and she made the most of what she had to work with. I can't wait for the next opportunity to put her in the car again. We know there is a better result out there for both of us." Mishael is seeking sponsorship support to complete the entire 2006 season.
