Nico Jamin scored the first Indy Lights pole position of his career, eclipsing the Carlin Racing duo of Zachary Claman De Melo and Neil Alberico.

The Frenchman’s Andretti Autosport Dallara IL15-Mazda lapped the 2.439-mile Indianapolis road course in 1min15.2443sec, to beat De Melo by 0.13sec and Alberico by 0.2sec.

Kyle Kaiser was fourth fastest for Juncos Racing, ahead of Belardi/Schmidt Peterson driver Santiago Urrutia and championship leader Colton Herta of Andretti Steinbrenner Racing.

Shelby Blackstock and Aaron Telitz were seventh and eighth for Belardi, with Matheus Leist (Carlin) and Dalton Kellett (Andretti) completing the Top 10.

Juan Piedrahita smacked his Team Pelfrey car into the barriers at Turn 5 and will have to start from the back of the field after causing a lengthy red-flag period.

The race begins at 5:50pm local time.
