INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (May 21, 2009) - AFS/AGR #26 driver J.R. Hildebrand will start from the thrid position for the Firestone Freedom 100 Firestone Indy Lights race on Friday May, 22. After posting a two-lap average speed of 189.866 miles per hour. Hildebrand's teammate, Sebastian Saavedra, driver of the #27 AFS/AGR car, will start in the second position. Saavedra posted a two-lap average speed of 190.023 miles per hour.
J.R. Hildebrand #26 AFS/AGR driver:
"I think the #26 car had a pretty good qualifying run. I have to be honest, it's little bit frustrating that we were so close to getting the pole. We are still in front, but it would've been great to start from the pole. My teammate, Sebastian (Saavedra) and I are both quite fast so hopefully we can get into the top position in the race tomorrow."
Sebastian Saavedra #27 AFS/AGR driver:
"As I've been saying since I got here, it's wonderful to be here and be able to race in the Freedom 100. The AFS/Andretti Green team has done a great job and gave me a great car today. I'm very happy I set the qualifying record even though Wade (Cummingham) broke it again. The #27 car is strong and we are ready for the race. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's race."
