Rosenqvist, 24, will complete in IndyCar's top support series Indy Lights, having tested with Belardi as well as Team Pelfrey in the off-season.
A regular frontrunner in various Formula 3 categories since 2010, Rosenqvist finally captured his first title in FIA's European F3 category in 2015, picking up 13 wins during the campaign.
After the regular season concluded, he also recorded his second win in the prestigious Macau Grand Prix.
”I’m really excited about racing in the US this year, and doing so with Belardi Auto Racing,” Rosenqvist said.
“Testing went very well and I got to grips with the car pretty much straight away. I like the way the team operates, and the racing seems a lot of fun with a wide variety of circuits and pure driving.
"Racing on this side of the world will be very different to what I’m used to, but certainly a challenge I’m already relishing.”
At Belardi, Rosenqvist will partner Lights race winner Zach Veach, who was third overall in the series' 2014 season.
That year, Belardi driver Gabby Chaves claimed the title, although the team could not challenge for the crown in the subsequent campaign that saw the introduction of the new IL-15 car.
"I’m happy to say that I’m perfectly pleased with the programme we have managed to put together for this season," Rosenqvist added, his representatives noting that he will continue racing in Europe as well, with the exact details to be announced later in the week.
