NOTES TO QUOTE FROM DORRICOTT RACING Detroit News 75

* What BOB DORRICOTT has to say regarding Detroit:

"I feel good about how the season is progressing and in our preparation for Detroit. I think we have a legitimate chance to score well at Belle Isle. It's a good opportunity to show that Long Beach wasn't a fluke."

"If Oriol had been able to avoid some bad luck at Long Beach, he probably would have done much better and possibly would have earned a top-five finish alongside Philipp Peter (Peter finished fourth place). He was in the wrong place at the wrong time during the Long Beach race when an accident occurred in front of him. As Oriol drove through and around the accident scene, he was bumped from behind by another car and shoved into the tire barrier. That created a problem in the steering among other things. He actually drove a good race although his finish didn't show it."

"When you take two drivers with little oval track experience, and then throw them into a string of oval races, it's nothing short of a quantum leap of a learning curve. We tested at Blackhawk Raceway after Milwaukee and the results clearly show that both Oriol and Philipp are quick learners. We have four consecutive street or road courses before our next oval at Michigan International Speedway. The change of pace from oval track racing is welcome and should allow the drivers to regain a bit of momentum and focus."

* Dorricott Racing's last Indy Lights victory came at Belle Isle in 1995 when Robbie Buhl, of Grosse Pointe, Mich., became one of only two drivers during the season to defeat eventual Indy Lights champion Greg Moore during his record shattering 10-win season in 1995. * Philipp Peter is fourth in the Indy Lights championship with 34 points. Christiano da Matta leads with 76 points. Additionally, Peter is in second place for Indy Lights Rookie-of-the-Year honors behind leader Derek Higgins, who has 35 points. * Oriol Servia leads Dorricott Racing in most completed race laps to date with 379 out of a possible 390 laps for the first five events.
