Shelby Blackstock will move to Belardi Auto Racing for his third Indy Lights campaign in 2017, it has been announced.
Blackstock, 26, switches over from Andretti Autosport, which he has raced for in various Mazda Road to Indy championships since 2012.
The American was 10th in his rookie season of Lights in 2015 and moved up to eighth place this year.
Said Blackstock: "I have a brief history with the team [Belardi] from 2015, which made the move from Andretti Autosport a bit easier.
"Belardi has proven to have quick cars and I really like how the team is organized. There will be a lot of different challenges in the 2017 season.
"The field will be very stout, as it has in the past, so I'm really excited to see how the team pushes me and how we tackle each challenge together. I’m very thankful and excited for this opportunity and can't wait to get to work!"
Belardi, which helped Gabby Chaves to the 2014 Lights title, fielded a full-time entry for Zach Veach and a car shared by Felix Rosenqvist and James French this year, the team finishing third overall and winning six races.
Blackstock is the first driver confirmed by the team for 2017, although it is also to run Pro Mazda champion Aaron Telitz.
