Justin hungry for more Watkins Glen success 29-June-2010 Justin and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing are eagerly anticipating the mid-summer stretch of IZOD IndyCar Series road and street course events starting with Watkins Glen International in Upstate New York this weekend.
Justin qualified on the front row on both previous visits to the 3.4 mile track in 2008 and 2009 and scored an historic victory in the Z-Line Designs car last year for Dale Coyne Racing. The famous road course has also been good to DRR, with one car in the top six in each of the last four races at the track.
With five road or street course events coming up, Justin is hoping he and the team can repeat their St. Petersburg and Long Beach success earlier this year and be regular podium visitors over the next eight weeks.
"I'm really looking forward to Watkins Glen this weekend," said Justin. "I love the track and I have a lot of great memories from the race there last year. I just want kick-start the season exactly the same way that we did last year. This is a good track for myself as well as for the team - I remember last year when Mike Conway pushed me all of the way throughout the race. Hopefully we can go out there and be quick the whole weekend and stick the Z-Line Designs car on pole and get our first victory of 2010."
Canadian driver Paul Tracy will be Justin's team-mate for the weekend, replacing the recuperating Mike Conway. "PT" will pilot DRR's No. 24 Honda Indy Toronto entry and he and Justin are looking forward to working together for the first time.
Practice for The Camping World Grand Prix at the Glen gets underway on Friday afternoon and qualifying takes place from 1.15pm to 2.45pm EDT on Saturday. ABC will have live coverage of the race from 3.30pm EDT on Sunday, July 4th. For those in the UK, Sky Sports 4 will also have live coverage from 8.30pm BST. There will be the usual live radio broadcast on the IMS Radio Network, XM channel 145, and Sirius channel 211. An event schedule and live timing and scoring, video streaming and other multi-media services can be found at www.indycar.com.
