Viso returns to KV Racing for 2012

VISO TO CONTEST 2012 IZOD INDYCAR SERIES SEASON FOR KV RACING TECHNOLOGY

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – FEBRUARY 27, 2012 -- KV Racing Technology co-owners Kevin Kalkhoven and Jimmy Vasser made it official today by announcing E. J. Viso will contest the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series season for the team..

“We are delighted to welcome E. J. back for his third season with KVRT. He has shown speed in his previous two years and this year we expect many more successful finishes from him,” said Kalkhoven.

“We are very excited to have E. J. back with us for 2012," said Vasser. "Over the last two years he has shown the determination and desire to compete at the highest level and we look forward to him having a very successful 2012 season.”

Viso, 26, will be behind the wheel of the #5 CITGO | PDVSA – KV Racing Technology Chevrolet/Firestone machine supported by Herbalife, Mindeporte CANTV and SBA Airlines. The personable and outgoing Venezuelan-born driver will be contesting his fifth IZOD IndyCar season and third with KVRT. In 2011, Viso, one of the most exciting young talents in the series, scored four top-10 finishes with a season best seventh place showing in Texas Race No. 2. In 67 career starts, Viso has earned 13 top-10 finishes with a career high third place showing on the oval at Iowa in 2010 and a street/road course best of fourth at St. Petersburg in 2008 in just his second IndyCar start. He expects 2012 to be his breakout year with the support of his crew, fans and sponsors.

“I am really happy to be back with KV Racing Technology,” Viso said. “Last year was very successful even if the results don’t necessarily reflect what we wanted. We worked very hard and we proved we were competitive. The progress we made over the last two years will be a key to our success in 2012.”
