Power Leads Practice in St. Petersburg

Winner of the season-opening race in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Team Penske's Will Power continues to be the man to beat in the IZOD IndyCar Series, leading the field in practice Friday in preparation for Sunday's Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

Power headed the time sheets in both practice sessions today, with Target Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon second quickest. Justin Wilson continued his strong performance to date with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing to finish the day third, followed by Andretti Autosport's Tony Kanaan and Ryan Hunter- Reay.

Action on the 1.8-mile temporary street circuit continues Saturday with Firestone "Fast Six" knockout qualifying. Green flag for Sunday's 100-lap race is scheduled for 3:30 pm EDT, with live television coverage on ABC.

Will Power (#12 Penske Racing Honda) quickest in practice: "The track is the same as last year, but we're running a different [chassis] setup, and it seems to suit me better. The team worked hard over the winter to improve our street-circuit performance, because we felt we were lacking just a little bit in this area last year. We're definitely headed in the right direction now. It's been a great start to the season for us, but we're still just a small percentage along the way."
