DREYER & REINBOLD RACING QUICK DURING PRACTICE IN SONOMA
Sonoma, CA (August 20, 2010)- Dreyer & Reinbold Racing was right on the marks during practice for the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. Coming off of some good momentum from the previous test at Infineon Raceway last Friday, DRR pilots Justin Wilson (No. 22 Z-Line Designs) and JR Hildebrand (No. 24 TranSystems), proved that they were right on pace again during today's session.
Wilson showed that he has competed on the 2.303-mile road course before. He proved that the test last week helped point the team in the right direction, but there are still a few things to tweak on the car to get it ready for qualifying. DRR will look over the data tonight and fine-tune the No. 22 Z-Line Designs machine in tomorrow morning's practice session. He clocked the fifth quickest time of 1:18.6161.
JR Hildebrand showed his true talent again as he's making his second IZOD IndyCar appearance this weekend at his home event. Like his teammate, Hildebrand tested with the team last week, which helped him to get the car the way he wanted it. The TranSystems crew got the No. 24 machine in the ballpark and tomorrow can be all about perfecting it. The reigning Firestone Indy Lights Champion clocked the 13th quickest time in today's practice session with a time of 1:19.0385.
What they have to say:
Justin Wilson, No. 22 Z-Line Designs: "The car felt pretty good in the first session, but there is still more that we can get out of it. We made some changes to combat under-steer and it helped, but the car felt a bit edgy in the corners. We will take a look at the data tonight and fine-tune the set-up for the morning practice session. I'm looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow."
JR Hildebrand, No. 24 TranSystems: "I thought that we had a pretty good day. We tried a lot of things and have a good direction for tomorrow. With a few changes we should be looking pretty good."
