Simona de Silvestro unhurt as her Andretti Honda bursts into flames - video

Simona de Silvestro's Tuesday practice session came to a fiery end at IMS.

INDIANAPOLIS - Simona de Silvestro led the train of five Andretti Autorsport Hondas out of the pits for drafting practice at IMS Tuesday. Things went awry on the 26-year-old's outlap though as she pulled to the side of the circuit with an apparent fuel leak at the buckeye.

As she stopped, the right rear portion of her machine started to burn. The fire quickly grew, engulfing part of the car as she escaped, uninjured. She had posted the 26th fastest time at that point with a lap of 222.164mph.

UPDATE: Team has loaded up the damaged car and has taken it back to to the Andretti Autorsport shop
