Former Formula Dodge standout Antonio Pizzonia has signed on to test with the Mo Nunn Racing team according to this week's Autosport magazine. The test is scheduled to take place in November and means that he will withdraw from season ending F3 races in Macau and Korea. The Brazilian will drive the Mo Nunn Reynard-Mercedes.

Pizzonia's test is unlikely to lead to a full-time ride as the Mo Nunn team currently runs one car for Skip Barber trained Tony Kanaan. The Nunn team is unsure whether it will expand for 2001. Pizzonia dominated this year's British F3 championship and has also impressed during numerous tests for the Benetton Formula 1 team. The youngster will continue in Europe, but next month's test is likely to make him better known in the U.S.

"We're pleased to have been offered something by the man who took [Skip Barber grad] Juan Montoya and Alex Zanardi to the championship," Pizzonia's spokesman told Autosport. "But we don't want it to detract from his Formula 1 ambitions."

The 20-year old has long been the subject of rumors regarding a probable move to Formula 1. He tested with Benetton Formula earlier this summer and was held to an option by the team up until this month. Last year, Pizzonia dominated the Formula Renault Championship in the U.K., which may provide some benefits down the road due to Renault's purchase of Benetton.
