GO DADDY GIRL SWAPS STOCK CARS FOR INDYCAR SEASON DEBUT
Most Popular Domain Registrar is Primary Sponsor for Most Popular Driver
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (March 11, 2010) -- Go Daddy Girl Danica Patrick is shifting from stock cars back to her No. 7 GoDaddy.com open-wheel car for this weekend's IZOD IndyCar Series season debut. Danica is set to drive through the streets of Brazil Sunday in the Sao Paulo Indy 300 road course.
The Go Daddy Girl has held the spotlight through her much anticipated NASCAR debut, where she drove the No. 7 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet in the Nationwide Series. Now she's in the driver's seat for the IZOD IndyCar Series in season.
"I'm looking forward to getting behind the wheel of my other Go Daddy car," Danica said. "With the great team I have at Andretti Autosport and my new primary sponsor GoDaddy.com, I'm in the best position ever going into a new IndyCar season."
Danica has been on the Go Daddy team since signing with the domain name registrar and Web host provider in 2006. This season, Go Daddy is all in as Danica's primary sponsor in both IndyCar and NASCAR.
"I love to watch Danica compete, and IndyCar is where it all started," said Go Daddy CEO & Founder Bob Parsons. "She's doing something most people can only dream of doing - driving 200-plus miles per hour and doing it competitively in what has traditionally been a man's sport."
Last season, Danica finished third at the Indianapolis 500 and ranked fifth overall in the IZOD IndyCar Series Championship, a career best. She is the only woman to ever win an IndyCar race, which she accomplished in 2008.
