Sebastian Saavedra will again be part of the IZOD Indy Car field as the series visits Sonoma August 17 as the Colombian driver reunites with AFS Racing and Andretti Autosport to drive the team’s #17 Chevrolet-powered entry.
Saaevedra, who has made Indy Car starts in each of the last three seasons, has served as the team’s official test driver while also competing full-time in the Firestone Indy Lights Series. The team last paired up at this year’s Indianapolis 500 where Saavedra finished 26th.
AFS Racing and Andretti Autosport have been periodic partners since 2008 when they ran titlewinning programs in the Lights series. They have also previously run Indy Car entries for Franck Montagny and Adam Carroll.
