Rodolfo Gonzalez set for IndyCar debut with Coyne at Barber
The musical chairs over at Dale Coyne Racing continues.
Venezuelan racer Rodolfo Gonzalez will be the fourth driver of Dale Coyne Racing's No. 18 Honda since NOLA. The 28-year-old will be making his IndyCar debut this weekend at Barber, alongside teammate Francesco Dracone.
Gonzalez has a respectable open-wheel resume with over 60 starts in GP2, finishing as high as 4th. He was also crowned the 2006 British F3 National champion and served as the 2013 test driver for the Marussia (now Manor) Formula One team, making eight FP1 starts.
Outside of open-wheel, he drove the Murphy Prototype LMP2 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans last yeat.
Prior to the 2015 IndyCar season, he tested with both Coyne and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, getting the opportunity to run some laps in the DW12 around Barber.
