BRAZILIAN INDYCAR SERIES DRIVERS TO HOST AND SERVE AT TEXAS DE BRAZIL CHURRASCARIA IN RICHMOND THIS WEDNESDAY
Richmond, VA (June 23, 2009)--If you're looking for a good meal with some great race car drivers, look no further than Texas de Brazil Churrascaria in Richmond this Wednesday, June 24 at 6:00 p.m. IndyCar Series drivers Mario Moraes and Rafa Matos will host and serve at Texas de Brazil Churrascaria's Richmond location, located at Regency Square Shopping Center (1420 North Parham Rd., Richmond, VA 23229).
The drivers are in town this week for the SunTrust Indy Challenge IndyCar Series race, scheduled for this Saturday, June 27, "under the lights." Both Moraes and Matos hail from Brazil, so they will be familiar with the cuisine, which includes various cuts of mouth-watering, sumptuous beef, lamb, pork, chicken and sausage. They will serve as hosts and servers from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Additionally, an IndyCar Two-Seater will be on display outside of the restaurant. Fans are encouraged to dine at Texas de Brazil, while seeing the open-wheel drivers in action at the restaurant.
After the drivers finish up at Texas de Brazil, they will focus on the open-wheel weekend at America's Premier Short Track. The weekend begins this Friday, June 26, with NBC12 Pole Qualifying for the IndyCar Series and the USAC Sprint Car Series Rotondo Weirich Showdown race "under the lights." Friday's $15 ticket includes an autograph session with all of the IndyCar Series drivers. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
Saturday night features the weekend's main event--the SunTrust Indy Challenge IndyCar Series race. Moraes, Matos, Danica Patrick, Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon, Dario Franchitti, Dan Wheldon and the rest of the IndyCar Series drivers will reach speeds of 180 mph around the ¾-mile oval--the shortest track the series visits. Saturday's tickets, which are $35 (reserved) and $30 (general admission), include a seat for the James River Grounds 100 USAC Silver Crown Series race, preceding the SunTrust Indy Challenge. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult in general admission sections. For tickets and information, visit www.rir.com or call 866-455-RACE (7223).
