Pippa Mann has crashed her Dale Coyne Racing No. 63 Honda.
INDIANAPOLIS - IMS saw its second on-track incident of the day at IMS with Pippa Mann losing control and crashing out of turn four.
The 31-year-old was behind Marco Andretti when she got out of control, sliding sideways. She backed it into the inside wall before striking the end of the pit wall, throwing the car into a violent spin cycle until hitting the outside wall. She got out of the car under her own power and is uninjured after being checked, cleared and released from infield medical center.
Talking with Motorsport.com on whether or not she will run Thursday, "Unfortunately no - we don't have a spare car. Hope to shake rebuilt car down tomorrow eve if no storms. Then it's straight into qualifying. The guys are working hard. Hope she'll be as quick rebuilt as she was before I hurt her!”
Mann is attempting to make her fourth start in the 500 as a third entry for Dale Coyne Racing. It's uncertain if the team has the parts needed in order to repair the car.
