Motorsport.com art director Eric Gilbert presents the photos that he actually uses as screen savers (and that he has actually shot, also). He presents those photos on his personal Facebook page and is now sharing them on Motorsport.com. Enjoy.

IndyCar Series, Fontana, California, 2012-09-15. Sunset Boulevard.

Sunset Boulevard, because I could swear the pit lane at the Auto Club Speedway (f.k.a. California Speedway) is the extension of the famed Los Angeles strip. If you look at that sun setting towards west and drive straight for 50 miles, I'm pretty convinced that you'll end up on the 'Sunset Strip'. Don't let those mountains and desert look-and-feel fool you: the 'Strip' is right there, where the sunset is.

Sunset Boulevard, also because of the iconic movie from the early '50s - shot in nearby Hollywood, of course. The dramatic action and bittersweet atmosphere of last Saturday's IndyCar Series season finale at Fontana strangely seems to mirror 'Sunset Boulevard', the golden age movie: old glories wanting to stay alive, established stars tumbling in a spectacular way, and the up-and-coming young guns taking it all, at the end of the day. Gloria Swanson would have felt right at home.

Oh, and I hope you enjoy this photo. Sunsets always look good, especially on a boulevard.
