Justin Wilson's widow sends heartfelt appreciation

Julia Wilson thanks the world for their thoughts, words and deeds since losing Justin three months ago

Julia Wilson has written a card to the racing community and all family friends expressing thanks and gratitude for the caring everyone has shown since her husband Justin's death.

The seven-time Indy car race winner died after being struck on the helmet by debris at 160mph while racing at Pocono's penultimate round of the 2015 IndyCar season. A Wilson Children Fund was rapidly established, and former teammate Graham Rahal started organizing an online auction.

With donations from teams and drivers in IndyCar, Formula 1, World Endurance Championship and more, the auction raised more than $620,000 for the Fund.

A little under three months since Justin's death, Julia Wilson wished to send this note to all who have have given their emotional and financial support;

Friends and Family

From my heart to yours, thank you so much for your generosity in donating to the Wilson Children Fund. I am thankful for your thoughtfulness and will always be grateful for your donations.

On behalf of myself, Jane and Jess, I want to express how nice and caring everyone has been in supporting us through this horrible time.

Despite our grief, we are lucky to be surrounded by such a big family community who are so loyal and caring. Your kindness means the world to us.

Again, please accept my heartfelt thanks for all your thoughts, emails, messages and everything that you have done.

With love,

My family to yours
