He has not been medically cleared to compete in today’s Pocono 500 event.
Medical Update on Jack Hawksworth: “Jack has been diagnosed with a myocardial contusion following the incident during the second practice session yesterday July 5th. He has not been medically cleared to compete in today’s Pocono 500 event. He currently remains under observation at Lehigh Valley Heath Network in Allentown, Pa. Jack is in good spirits and eager to return to the cockpit of the Integrity Energy Drink #98 as quickly as possible”
With no additional practice sessions the team has decided it is not feasible to run a substitute driver for today’s Pocono IndyCar 500. Work is well under way to prepare the team’s second car for next weekend’s Iowa Corn Indy 300 and Jack Hawksworth is expected to be cleared to compete for next weekend’s event.
