Ft. Worth: Will Langhorne completed all four phases of his rookie test Monday at the Texas Motor Speedway. Langhorne turned a total of 93 laps and reached a top sped of 212.24 MPH in the #99 Grill2GO Dallara of Sam Schmidt Motorsports.
"The #99 Grill2GO Sam Schmidt Motorsports car is a very good car," said Langhorne. " Thank you to Grill2GO and the team for a very good package for my test. I was very comfortable and confident in the car within a couple of laps. Clearly the team has very good synergy. I am very much looking forward to racing the Grill2Go car in a couple of races this year."
Langhorne's previous racing experience is in the Barber Dodge Pro Series as well as Toyota Atlantics. In 1999 he won the Toyota Atlantics Grand Prix of Vancouver and was runner up for Rookie of the Year finishing just 1 point behind 2001 IRL Champion Sam Hornish Jr. despite only competing in 8 of 12 races.
"Will did a nice job," said Sam Schmidt, team owner. "He was very intelligent with his approach and gave the team superb technical feedback. Will got the car up to speed quickly and into the first bracket. From there, he methodically worked his way through the test and was comfortably flat out by the end of the test. Clearly Will has a lot of potential."
