IRL: Walker Racing driver Sarah Fisher in the news

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 14, 2000 - Although the Indy Racing Season is officially over for 2000, Walker Racing driver Sarah Fisher has been keeping busy. Sarah was a featured guest speaker at the Indianapolis Star Women's 2000 Expo on Sunday, Nov. 12.

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 14, 2000 - Although the Indy Racing Season is officially over for 2000, Walker Racing driver Sarah Fisher has been keeping busy. Sarah was a featured guest speaker at the Indianapolis Star Women's 2000 Expo on Sunday, Nov. 12. She spoke to convention attendees about how she defines success. Other guest speakers at the event included actress Brooke Shields and singer CeCe Winans.

Glamour Magazine and Saturn Corp. recently honored Sarah as one of 100 "Women at Their Best." The winners were recognized for their community, career and personal accomplishments illustrating their dedication to being their best, while being an inspiration to others.

Sarah and the other winners each received a $500 prize and a limited edition, framed photograph signed by renowned nature photographer Monte Nagler. Fisher donated her $500 prize to CARA (Championship Auto Racing Auxiliary) Charities.

Make sure to purchase the December issue of Glamour magazine as Sarah will be featured in an article about women in men's jobs. The magazine sent a crew from New York out to the Walker Race shop in September to film Sarah and her race car for the story.

Fans at the season-ending NASCAR race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Nov. 19 will get to see Sarah in action in her #15 Walker Racing/Cummins Special car as she drives some hot laps on the track right before the start of the race.

If you are in the Washington D.C. area on Dec. 9, stop by the inaugural Washington Motorsports Expo. Sarah will be signing autographs from 1-3 p.m.

Also on Dec. 9, Sarah will be among the featured athletes on the ABC television special "Game for Anything" at 4 p.m. (EST.) "Game for Anything" is an hour-long show that introduces viewers to a cross-section of female athletes. Among the women featured are Fisher, members of the U.S. soccer team, world-class rock climber Lynn Hill, tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams and WBNA star Lisa Leslie.
