4. Field will contain 32 cars. Fastest 30 cars through time trials, plus two provisional starting positions.

5. Arie Luyendyk and Treadway Racing are defending champions. In 1997 they set the fastest race average of 133.903 mph, with a final race time of 2 hours, 19 minutes, 48.116 seconds.

6. First night race of the 1998 IRL season.

The True Value 500K will be broadcast live on TNN at 9:00 PM (EDT) with announcers Mike Joy, Tom Sneva and pit reporters Ralph Sheheen and Vince Welch. In addition, the IMS Radio Network will also carry the race live at 9 p.m. (EDT) June 6. The pre-race show will start at 8:30 PM (EDT).

Qualifying will be featured live on Speedvision at 9:15 PM (EDT) on June 4th.
