"At the beginning of the race I was not having fun, but by the end I was having a great time. The track was changing and the car was not handling well. There was a lot of rubber on the track as the race went on and my car had a huge understeer. But that's the price we pay with this being our first race at Texas Motor Speedway. We worked on the Marlboro Team Penske car during our pit stops, and it was awesome by the end. The guys did a great last pit stop (lap 192) and I was able to take the lead (lap 194). Unfortunately fifth gear was too tall- which was my fault since I chose it - and there was nothing I could do to keep the lead. The good thing is we are still in the lead in the Championship (Castroneves leads with 227 points). We need to keep our focus as we head to Pikes Peak and continue to put points on the board."

"The Marlboro Team Penske car was performing very well at the start of the race and it was great in traffic. Unfortunately, we lost the gearbox when we came out of the pits on our first stop (lap 56). The crew did a fantastic job repairing the car and they replaced the entire gearbox. It's a shame we had that trouble, because we had a really good car tonight. But we were able to climb back from 21st to finish 16th so we earned some very valuable points in the Championship (de Ferran maintains second place in the IRL point standings with 183 points)."
