2005 Season Shaping Up To Be Best Ever For Texas Motor Speedway

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Jan. 13, 2005) -- Two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races highlight the season schedule as Texas Motor Speedway gears up for its ninth year of racing.

"Each year just gets better and better," said speedway president Eddie Gossage. "The addition of the second NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race is something we've wanted for years. The schedule we have for 2005 with two Cup, two Busch, two Truck, an IRL IndyCar and IROC race is perfect. We like it, and more importantly, the fans love it. And that's what matters most."

Texas will also retain its traditional two-day qualifying format for both NASCAR weekends.

"I know a lot of the speedways are being asked to go to a one-day practice and qualifying format," said Gossage. "Our qualifying day crowds are as large as some Cup races on the circuit so we will be sticking with our two days of qualifying and Cup Series "Happy Hour" on Busch race days in both April and November. The fans support know what they want and it's up to us to keep our fans happy."

The 2005 schedule is as follows: Saturday, April 16, NASCAR Busch Series O'Reilly 300 and Sunday, April 17, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Samsung/RadioShack 500 with The Dallas Morning News Qualifying Days Thursday and Friday, April 14-15 and the Crown Royal IROC Race Friday night, April 15; Friday, June 9, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Fort Worth 400k and Saturday, June 10, Indy Racing League IndyCar Series Bombardier Learjet 500k with 96.3 KSCS Qualifying on Thursday, June 8; Friday, Nov. 4, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Silverado 350k, Saturday, Nov. 5, NASCAR Busch Series O'Reilly Challenge and Sunday, Nov. 6, the inaugural Dickies 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race with Albertsons Qualifying Days Nov. 3-4.

The Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track will host the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship March 4-5 for modifieds and O'Reilly SUPR late models with the NGK Spark Plugs Shootout for O'Reilly SUPR late models Saturday, April 16 during the Samsung/RadioShack 500 race week.

"We're the most fan-friendly sporting attraction in the market and in motorsports," said Gossage. "We're continuing to make improvements around our facility to enhance the fan experience. And we offer Season Ticket Holders perks that no one else can get, including a special party with Cup drivers during the Samsung/RadioShack 500 race week as well as the opportunity to buy pit passes for both Cup weekends."

Season Tickets and individual tickets for the April and June race week events are available now at the speedway ticket office, by calling the ticket hotline at (817) 215-8500 or going online to www.texasmotorspeedway.com. Individual ticket fore the November race weekend will go on sale May 6.
