VITOR MEIRA (No. 17 Team CENTRIX Honda G-Force)
(Started 3rd, Finish 4th -- Finished 8th in the Final IRL points)
"The race didn't finish like we thought, with just two laps to the checkered flag under green.
I think we were in position to race for the win when the yellow (flag) came out. We had come back from ninth to the lead around lap 160 and I was able to get some clear air and driving around on the outside. I felt a little frustrated earlier because I was getting blocked on the outside. But once I got clear of the cars and I could go the high line and the car was good. I had some under steer in the car at the start but I knew if I stayed with the lead pack that I would be okay for the end. And it was a shame that we get those last 15 laps. I just hope that Alex (Barron) and Dario (Franchitti) are okay. They took a hard hit. I clipped the wall a couple of times too but the car was still good. I had a great year with Rahal Letterman Racing and Centrix and I'm really looking forward to coming back next year."
BUDDY RICE (No. 15 Pioneer/Argent Mortgage Honda G-Force)
(Started 4th, Finished 20th due to an electrical problem -- Finished 3rd in the Final IRL points)
"We had an electrical problem. We changed the battery and it didn't help. Maybe it was an alternator too. It is a shame to finish the season this way because it has been a great season for me and the Pioneer/Argent team. Considering where I was at this point a year, sitting on the pine (bench). To get this ride with Rahal Letterman after Kenny's misfortune was a great break for me. I couldn't have asked for a better ride and a better team. We had an outside chance of second in the points but we had to hope that Danny (Wheldon) dropped out at the early part of the race. And that didn't happen. But overall, it was a good season and I'm looking forward to the 2005 IRL season."
