Dario Franchitti, #27 ArcaEx Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"I'm not sure what happened this morning; something broke in the right rear. The ArcaEx car just bottomed out and around she went. The biggest problem I have is that I caught my left foot on the clutch pedal. It was just one of those things that, when it happens, you have no control. Tony (Kanaan) and Dan (Wheldon) did a good job of avoiding me and I'm glad I didn't take them into the wall with me. This afternoon, I just wanted to see how comfortable I would be. We obviously missed a lot of track time today, but the ArcaEx car wasn't too bad. I didn't have any issues, and I'm glad for that. The foot shouldn't be a problem in the race. We'll just get out there tomorrow, mix it up and hope we have a good experience."
Dario Franchitti Notes
Franchitti was involved in a single-car incident during the first practice session, suffering a broken bone in his left foot, while the #27 ArcaEx car suffered extensive damage to the rear and left side of the car. He will use his back-up car for Sunday's race and will start from the 19th position.
