SPONSOR OFFERS $25,000 PRIZE TO PICK TOP FINISHERS OF MALL.COM 500

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Oct. 5 , 1999) -- Austin-based Mall.com, the premier internet mall developer, is giving fans a chance to win big money in the Mall.com 500 Net Speed Challenge.

The contest gives fans a chance to win $25,000 by correctly choosing the top eight finishers, in order, for the Oct. 17 Mall.com 500 Pep Boys Indy Racing League event at Texas Motor Speedway. Mall.com gift certificates will also be given to the top three entries whose drivers have the highest number of combined points based on their finish at the Mall.com 500.

"This is a chance for fans to get involved with other aspects of the race beyond just what they see happening on the track," said Mall.com president and CEO Lawrence Latham. "In the process, we hope this will also bring more fans to the sport and give them a vested interest in the outcome of the race."

Fans can enter the contest by logging on to Mall.com. All entries must be registered online by start of race, 1:00 p.m. CDT. Contest winners will be determined Monday, Oct. 18 and notified on or about Oct. 19. Fans can also go online to see how they fared.

"We think this is a great way to generate even more interest in the Mall.com 500," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "Racing is certainly an unpredictable sport, but if there's someone who can pick the top eight finishers, we'll sure have one happy race fan."

Mall.com, which provides shoppers a convenient and time-saving way to find nationally recognized brand name retailers all within the click of a button, recently signed a multi-year deal to sponsor the fall Indy Racing League event at Texas Motor Speedway.
