HORNISH JR. AND PRESIDENT BUSH - BUSY ON WHISTLE STOP TOURS

Marlboro Team Penske driver Sam Hornish Jr. and President George W. Bush had similar plans last week as both participated in bus tours across Ohio. However, while their geographical position was similar, their intentions were completely different.

On Monday and Tuesday of last week, the President was busy on the campaign trail making several stops in Michigan and Ohio as he kicked off his first major tour of the year. Riding in a customized 45-foot bus as part of a 25-vehicle entourage, Bush spent the two days surrounded by Secret Service, State Police cruisers and journalists.

On Tuesday morning, his path crisscrossed with Defiance, OH native Sam Hornish Jr. as they were both in Toledo - Bush for a Republican invite-only pancake breakfast and Q& A session and Hornish Jr. at a media breakfast to discuss his quest for his first win at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 30th.

Hornish Jr. toured the Buckeye State last Tuesday and Wednesday in a single-vehicle entourage fulfilling interview requests in Toledo, Cleveland and Columbus. He traveled by motor coach throughout the two-day whistle stop tour, in the bus that is at the track with him at each domestic race weekend.

CASTRONEVES SWITCHES SEATS - TRIES HAND AS TEAM OWNER

Helio Castroneves recently returned to his native Brazil to cheer on his latest investment - a new racing Team. Castroneves, a partner of NasrCastroneves Racing, recently formed a Team in the Brazilian Stock Car V8 Championship, in which they competed on Sunday, May 2nd.

The cars in this Series are modified Chevrolet Astra's (a popular model in Brazil) and are based on the cars in competition in the NASCAR Busch Series. Many of Brazil's greatest drivers are active in this Series including Roberto Moreno, Raul Boesel, Airton Dare, Gualter Salles and Hoover Orsi.

Sunday's third round event took place in the south of Brazil in Viamao at Taruma International Speedway, where Castroneves' drivers Adalberto Jardim and Juliano Moro finished 15th and 19th respectively.

MARLBORO TEAM PENSKE: READY FOR OPENING DAY AT INDY

On Sunday, May 9th Marlboro Team Penske kicked-off the month's preparation for the 88th running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race. Looking to take the momentum of being at the top of the speed charts both days during last week's IndyCar Series Open Test, the Team will be going for its record 14th win at the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing." A win on May 30th would also mark the Team's fourth consecutive win at the "May Classic," a feat that has never been accomplished in the 87-year history of the event. In addition, Penske Racing will be attempting to win its record 13th and second consecutive pole (Castroneves won the pole last year) on May 15th.

Marlboro Team Penske will be holding a press conference on Friday, May 14th at 10:00 a.m. CT in the trackside press conference room at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in order to discuss their defense of three consecutive Indy 500 wins as well as their search for two consecutive poles. Roger Penske, Tim Cindric, Helio Castroneves, Sam Hornish Jr. and Rick Mears will be on-hand for the event and available for questions.
