September 28th, Eddie Cheever will help celebrate the groundbreaking of the new 1.5-mile oval at Joliet. Cheever will join Tony George, Bill France, Scott Goodyear, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jarrett in the festivities.
Team Cheever feels it has a leg up on the competition with its move to the Infiniti Indy and its future 3.5-litre program. Ask team owner and driver, Eddie Cheever why he made the move mid-season and what the future holds for the engine package.
The Children's Beverage Group took on the giant Capri Sun and won with it's unique and patented 'rip-it-sip-it'(tm) no-spillage packaging system. Now, this small Chicago based company has one of the fastest selling SKUs in Wal-Mart history and is primed for success in the $800+ million dollar children's drink market.
During the Las Vegas race week, team fabricator, Gary Frost, will also be preparing his 1966 Mustang Fast Back to attempt to hold onto his 1998 Bonneville Land Speed Record of 233m.p.h. Per the 10-year family tradition, it would normally be Gary's father, Ron, who would make this year's title attempt, but being laid up by a recent surgery, family friend, Bill Wideman will get behind the wheel while son Gary acts as lead mechanic. The Frost Family holds three separate World Land Speed Records on the salt flats of Bonneville (1995, 1997, 1998).
