The Red Bull Cheever Racing Toyotas will start side-by-side from the seventh row of the grid for Sunday's Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

In the morning practice session Alex Barron and Patrick Carpentier were eighth and ninth fastest, but the pair didn't fare as well in single-car qualifying where they finished the day in 13th and 14th positions.

Alex Barron was tenth out in the qualifying order, which was determined by the combined practice times from Friday. He turned a fast lap of one minute, 4.3051 seconds (100.770 mph) in the No. 51 Red Bull Cheever Racing Dallara/Toyota/Firestone car.

"The car was good but some understeer in the last corner cost us some valuable time," Barron said. "The car had really good balance for qualifying and I am excited for the race. I think consistency will determine the podium."

Barron is looking forward to the first non-oval event in the ten year history of the IndyCar Series.

"The course is fantastic," Barron said of the 1.8-mile, 14-turn course on the streets of downtown St. Petersburg. "The circuit is really fun to drive and adding an event like this is great for the series."

The third car on track for qualifying, Patrick Carpentier clocked a fast lap of one minute, 4.4630 seconds (100.523 mph) in the No. 83 Red Bull Cheever Racing Dallara/Toyota/Firestone car.

"I thought we did okay considering we missed all day Friday," Carpentier said. "I had to run a lot this morning just to learn the track. I couldn't do a qualifying simulation to find out how the car was in a single-lap run. It was more important to do a lot of running this morning to work on the car for the race. I am ready for the race. We are going to have fun tomorrow."

The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Sunday, April 3 will air at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN.
