"I was hoping for a better lap out there, but it's OK. It's about what we ran in practice. The important thing is that the Target car is pretty good in race trim. We've worked a lot on the race car during our test sessions down here and I'm looking forward to the race tomorrow. "

"Well, we didn't get the pole today but we still had another strong qualifying effort. It's a credit to these guys that work on the team. I try to reward them with poles and wins. We missed a little bit today, but it's not bad. On the first lap I missed a downshift and that is what probably cost us a shot at the pole. 5th is still pretty good though and I happy with it. Team Target has done a great job this season and we should have a good car for the race."
It is the 10th straight top-6 start for Scott Dixon.
In the last 9 races, Scott Dixon's average qualifying position is 2.6, including 4 poles, two seconds, a third, a fourth, a fifth and a sixth.
Scheckter has recorded his fourth straight starting position of 7th or better.
Two of Dixon's three victories have come from starting positions 6 and 12.
