Richard Childress Racing driver Robby Gordon completed the Indy-Charlotte double this weekend. After running 500 miles and surviving a pit fire at Indy and finishing eighth, Gordon had a long night in Charlotte and finished 16th.

Throughout the race Gordon complained of side cramps and was given side padding as well as bananas and a drink concotion made up of orange juice, Powerade, Gatorade and Goody's headache powder for energy.

Prior to the drop of the green on the Coca Cola Racing Family 600, Gordon said "As far as Charlotte, I feel really good. Indianapolis went well. I'm disapointed we didn't win Indianapolis. Maybe we can do that here."

Although Gordon came up short, he did run in the top five for a short while. A huge accomplishment considering he had to drop the No. 31 Chevy to the rear of the 43 car field after he missed the driver's meeting which took place as he was making his trip from Indy to Charlotte. Gordon had originally qualified the car 12th.

After the race Gordon was treated by doctors and given ice water and ice packs which he placed inside his firesuit.
