Indianapolis: Rick Treadway has been approved by IRL officials to run the Belterra Casino INDY 300 this weekend at the Kentucky Speedway after successfully completing his refresher test last Thursday at the Chicagoland IRL open test. Treadway will drive the #5 Meijer entry for Treadway-Hubbard Racing.

"This is just a dream come true," said Treadway. "I've worked hard to prepare myself for this day and I'm excited for the race weekend. I've logged nearly 2000 test miles with the Treadway-Hubbard team over the last eight months in the IRL car at seven or eight different tracks. We've run three different tracks and several hundred laps in the last week alone. I'm ready to go and have to thank Meijer, Coca-Cola and the entire Treadway-Hubbard team for their support."

"Ricky's ready to go," said Skip Faul, team manager for Treadway-Hubbard Racing. "I've been pleasantly surprised with how well he handles the car. He's got a lot of miles under his belt and we have been working hard on pit stops and all the things he'll need to know to be ready. I expect he'll do just fine."

Treadway races his #5 midget at the Speedrome in Indianapolis every Thursday night and is currently leading the points championship. He has logged nearly 2000 total test miles at seven different IRL venues in the #5 entry for Treadway-Hubbard Racing. The Belterra Casino INDY 300 will be his first IRL start. The race can be seen Sunday at 1:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.
