Indianapolis: Rick Treadway's dreams of racing in the big leagues may become a reality starting with the Belterra Casino Indy 300 subject to final approval of Indy Racing officials. Treadway, son of team owner Fred Treadway, completed the speed portion of his rookie test in December at the Texas Motor Speedway and has since logged over 1300 test miles in the #5 Treadway-Hubbard Racing G-Force/Aurora/ Firestone. Testing continued today at the Kentucky Speedway and final approval is expected after running the two Indy Racing open tests next week at Gateway International Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway.

"This is a dream come true," said Treadway. "I really have to thank Meijer and Coca-Cola as well as the entire Treadway-Hubbard team for believing in me. It's just an honor to drive for this team and work with the guys. The car was really good today and I felt comfortable right away. The track is a little bumpy so that took some getting used to, but I was able to adapt pretty quickly. It's going to be a very physically demanding race. I know I'm physically and mentally prepared and I'm confident I can compete at this level. I really just can't wait."

Treadway turned 120 laps on the 1.5-mile oval reaching a top speed of 213.6 MPH. The team will continue testing at the Kentucky Speedway tomorrow and then continue Monday and Tuesday at Gateway. Testing will wrap up next Thursday in Chicagoland.
