IRL: Richmond: Andretti Green Racing Open Test notes

Dario Franchitti, ...

Dario Franchitti, #27 Klein Tools/Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"The Klein Tools/Canadian Club car is not too bad. It's been really hot and the cars are sliding about because of it. We're pretty happy with our progress, but we're still looking to make improvements. It has definitely been useful to have these extra four hours today."

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"We had a productive day and learned a lot in the XM Satellite Radio car. We still have some work to do, but we made ground today. I'm relatively happy with the car and the day that we had and hopefully we can transfer what we learned today into tomorrow and Saturday."

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"An extra day of practice in Richmond is really valuable for Team 7-Eleven as we've struggled here in the past. The extra practice really helps. We spent the day working on race setups and I'm pretty pleased with our day. We still have a long, long day ahead of us. This track is very tricky and can lead you in the wrong direction if you aren't careful."

Marco Andretti, #26 NYSE Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"I really like driving at Richmond. It's definitely a driver's track. You really have to drive the car to get a good speed rather than just go flat out. If you work hard enough to get your car working for you then you are rewarded with a good speed. It's definitely harder to go quick here than at a lot of other places."
