INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001 - Morning rain forced the cancellation of Indy Racing Northern Light Series private testing by Treadway Racing and Bradley Motorsports on Tuesday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk was scheduled to test for Treadway, with Buzz Calkins scheduled to test for Bradley. Both drivers will return for testing Wednesday, joined by Rick Treadway, who will join Luyendyk behind the wheel for Treadway Racing.

Ten teams and 11 drivers have tested at the Speedway since the end of the Indy Racing season earlier this month. Jacques Lazier posted the fastest speed of fall testing Oct. 17 with a lap of 225.006 mph in his No. 2 Johns Manville/Menards Dallara/Oldsmobile/Firestone. Reigning Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves also tested at the Speedway last week.

The 86th Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. (EST) May 26, 2002.
