PEP BOYS INDY RACING LEAGUE TO BROADCAST RACES LIVE ON THE NET

INDIANAPOLIS, April 16, 1999 - Officials of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced today a three-year exclusive agreement with broadcast.com, to broadcast live audio coverage of all Pep Boys Indy Racing League events and the Indy Racing Radio Network's weekly show, "Track Talk," on the Internet. Racing fans will be able to access all these events on www.broadcast.com.

"We are excited about this opportunity to provide racing fans another opportunity to listen to Pep Boys Indy Racing League action live," said John Newcomb, vice president, sales and marketing for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "Through broadcast.com, fans can now tune in to races regardless of where they are."

"Broadcast.com is excited to partner with the Indy Racing League to extend the reach of their programming to the Internet and fans worldwide," said Kevin Parke, vice-president of broadcast.com.

Broadcast.com will broadcast the Indy Racing Radio Network coverage of all Pep Boys Indy Racing League events, including the 83rd running of the Indianapolis 500, May 30. The next race on the Pep Boys Indy Racing League schedule is the VisionAire 500, May 1. Air time for that race on IRRN is 7:30 p.m. EDT.

The network's weekly motorsports talk show, "Track Talk," hosted by Mike King, will also be simulcast on the broadcast.com site. "Track Talk" airs every Wednesday night at 8 p.m. EDT.

To access the live and on-demand audio action of the Pep Boys Indy Racing League, users will need streaming media software, available to download free-of-charge on broadcast.com. Specific instructions on how to download and install the software are also available on the site.
