RACE WEEK ACTIVITIES GEAR UP

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (June 7, 1999) - Race week events are gearing up this week at Texas Motor Speedway. Activities include:

ESPN2 FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS - Texas Motor Speedway, Top Rank Boxing, and ESPN2 are gearing up for ESPN2 Friday Night Fights Presented by Budweiser on June 11, immediately following the Pronto Auto Parts 400. The 2 ½ hour event, hosted by Pronto Auto Parts, will be broadcast live from the 26,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom located on the top floor of The Speedway Club at Texas Motor Speedway. Reserved tickets are still available through the ticket office at (817) 215-8500.

AUTOGRAPHS PLEASE - Defending Longhorn 500 champion Billy Boat will be at the Sears store at Valley View Center, 13131 Preston Road in Dallas on Wednesday, June 9 to sign autographs for race fans. The autograph session will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

FUN AND GAMES - The 1999 Pep Boys Indy Racing League Experience will be at Texas Motor Speedway beginning on June 10. The interactive exhibit includes: a theater which presents viewers with the Indy Racing League story and highlights from past races, a twelve person motion simulator which provides participants with a driver's view at 200 mph, and a sponsor exhibit tent which features interactive and entertaining displays. The exhibit will be set up near Gate 6 at Texas Motor Speedway. There is no admission fee.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT - The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be at Texas Motor Speedway on Wednesday, June 9 for practice before the Pronto Auto Parts 400 on Friday, June 11. The trucks will be on the 1.5-mile superspeedway from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. The practice session is open to the public and Gate 4 will be open beginning at 2 p.m.

TUNE IN - The Pronto Auto Parts 400 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday, June 11 will be broadcast live beginning at 6:30 p.m. on WBAP 820 AM the official station of Texas Motor Speedway. WBAP, which is also the official station of the Dallas Stars, will broadcast the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday night. Therefore, KSCS, 96.3 FM and the sister station to WBAP, will broadcast the Longhorn 500 Presented by MCI WorldCom Pep Boys Indy Racing League event on Saturday, June 12 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
