Hearn and Lazzaro have rocky rides in Colorado.

Fountain,Co: Richie Hearn held on to finish 12th while teammate Anthony Lazzaro retired early after making contact with the outside wall in turn two on lap 68 to finish 22nd in the Radisson INDY 225 from the Pikes Peak International Raceway.

"It's better than 13th I guess, " said Hearn. "The car was just inconsistent all day. We would be loose for a while and then it would turn to a push or we would be loose at one end and push in the other. We just couldn't get it dialed in today. This track is really tricky. There were a lot of guys having trouble and a lot of guys went backward. At least we moved forward and finished better than we started."

Hearn started 17th in the #20 BG Products/Western Union entry for Sam Schmidt Motorsports. Lazzaro started right beside Hearn in 18th in the #55 BG Products Sam Schmidt Motorsports Racing Special.

"The car was actually good," said Lazzaro. "I'm not sure what happened, but the car just came around on me. It's a shame because we were moving forward. We even caught a break with the rain and got our lap back. It was my first time working with the #55 crew so there is always a learning curve but they gave me a great car."

The race was red flagged for nearly an hour after a rain and hail storm brought a stop to the action.

The next race is the Suntrust INDY Challenge on June 29th from the Richmond International Raceway and can be seen on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).
