"Boy, my problem was in traffic. The Centrix car was just too loose in traffic. Every time I would make a run on another car the rear end would break loose. When I was by myself, the car was good. I think everyone had some type of situation with a loose condition. If you were in a pack, the air would affect the car. The guy with the least loose car was the best. That was Dario today. I'm sure that is what happened to Buddy too. When you are in the middle of the pack, you have so much air coming around you that you can barely hang on to the steering wheel. If a car cuts down in front of you, the car really moves. It has a lot to do with the high altitude. You don't have as much downforce on the car at 6,000 feet. And with the air from the other cars, the car is a handful. But I'm glad we were able to get seventh for Centrix, our primary sponsor. I wanted to do better today since Centrix is based in Colorado."
BUDDY RICE (No. 15 Pioneer/Argent Mortgage Honda G-Force)
(Started 11th, Finish 22nd)
"The car felt good going through turns one and two. I was going to take it easy and settle in. It's funny because the car was straight on the back straightaway but, when (Tomas) Scheckter went by on the outside, the rear end just came around. It went loose quicker than I could believe. Maybe Scheckter's car took the air off the rear because I couldn't do anything at that point. Maybe it was cold tires and being in the middle of the pack with all of the air from all of the cars. But something definitely happened when Tomas' car went by. Yes, I'm pretty disappointed. But the championship isn't over. But this doesn't help our situation. We'll just have to be as aggressive as possible in the last four races. I won't drive any different than I have all year. We have had a couple of bad races already. Maybe one or two. We just didn't need this one today. I feel bad for the Pioneer/Argent Honda crew at Rahal Letterman. They worked their butts off and we don't get to complete a lap. But we'll be back at Nazareth. This is a good team."
