INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- Kelley Racing and Scott Sharp, driver of the No. 8 Delphi entry, are looking forward to returning to the newly reconfigured one-mile oval at Phoenix International Raceway. During the winter, the track was changed to include the widening of the exit of Turn 2 as well as tearing out a portion of Turn 4 to build a tunnel. Sharp, who tested at PIR in February, was impressed with the changes. "PIR has done a great job in their additions to the track," He said. "The tunnel has provided much easier access and the repaving in Turn 4 was incredibly smooth. The wider exit from Turn 2 should provide room for some great side-by-side racing on Sunday."
Sharp and Kelley Racing kicked off the IRL IndyCar season at Homestead-Miami Speedway on February 29. Sharp finished in ninth position after qualifying 17th. He and the team are looking forward to continuing to build momentum. "The Delphi-Kelley Team worked very well together to net a top-ten finish at Homestead," Sharp explained. "We're looking forward to building our momentum at Phoenix as we get closer to the Indianapolis 500."
Practice for the Copper World Indy 200 begins on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with a second practice session set to begin at 2:30 p.m. Practice will continue on Saturday morning at 9:10 a.m. with qualifying set to begin at 12:00 p.m. On Sunday, the race will be shown live on ABC beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Scott Sharp Quote on the Copper World Indy 200
"Phoenix reminds me of IndyCar tradition, as the track is one of the longest running on our schedule. Perennially, it is one of our early-season, short-track, action packed races. I'm especially excited this year with some of the changes PIR has made. With the widening of Turn 2, I'm expecting the racing to be even tighter. We'll go side-by-side regularly through Turns 1 and 2 and that will be very hair raising for the fans! The Delphi-Kelley Team worked very well together to net a top-ten finish at Homestead after starting 17th. We're looking forward to building our momentum at Phoenix as we get closer to the Indianapolis 500."
