Kelley Racing driver Al Unser Jr. earned his best finish since his win at St. Louis last August by finishing fifth in today's bombardier ATV Copper World Indy 200. This was his second start with Kelley Racing and plans on even better finishes for the future.

"The Corteco/Bryant car ran great today," said Unser. " I am super proud of Kelley Racing. I told the guys in Miami that we're only as good as our last race, and that race wasn't very good. Today we finished fifth, so hopefully we'll keep that going."

Unser led the race for 39 laps and his strong finish moved him up to sixth in the Indy Racing Driver Points Championship.

Unser's teammate Scott Sharp was also running strong today and at one time had the fastest lap of the race. Unfortunately the "Luck of the Irish" was not with him as he hit the wall on lap 103 when Anthony Lazzaro spun in front of him.

"Lazarro spun in front of me and we had nowhere to go," said Sharp. "It's unfortunate for the Delphi crew. We had a great car today and we were definitely looking for a strong finish."

Sharp was not injured in the accident, but his 16th-place finish left him 21st in the Driver Points Championship.

Kelley Racing heads to California Speedway next weekend for the Yamaha Indy 400. It will be the Indy Racing League's first visit to the superspeedway.
