SATURDAY, MARCH 23, 1996 UPDATE AS OF 7 A.M. FROM A ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL SPOKESPERSON:

Eddie Cheever, Stan Wattles and Buddy Lazier were admitted overnight at St. Joseph's Hospital and were in good condition. Cheever and Wattles were in private rooms. Lazier was kept in the intensive care unit overnight.

Dr. Henry Bock, IRL medical director, said Cheever, Wattles and Lazier would not be cleared to drive this weekend.

STAN WATTLES (at 8:30 p.m. Friday): "The car was coming to us. We were knocking a quarter of a second off (the lap time) each lap. The car felt real comfortable. I'm not sure what happened." (from Sylvia Proudfoot, Leigh Miller Racing P.R.)
